The Great Gatsby Chapter 4

Chapter 4

"Benny McClenahan arrived always with four girls" during the fishbowl we talked about how everyone who seems to come to the parties seems depressed or that something is going on in the worlds of these people. They come to Gatsby's house to leave the depression and not have to deal with it thats why he brought so many girls. ""Good morning old sport, You're having lunch with me today and I thought we'd ride up together"" Is Gatsby just doing this to get daisy back or does he really want a friendship with nick? Does Gatsby want friendships or just people to help him get his "dream girl." "All these people came to Gatsby's during the summer" why was it only during the summer? why not the winter? was Gatsby isolated then?
